Men wanted in Missouri kidnapping found in Kansas
Two Georgia men suspected in the kidnapping of a Missouri woman were arrested in western Kansas and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on Saturday, according to a booking report.
Christopher G. Smith, 47, and John C. Czarnecki, 53, were located in Hays late Friday by members of the Kansas Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service, according to a release posted to the Cape Girardeau (Mo.) Police Department’s Facebook page.
The two men, both from Georgia, were wanted in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Sally McIntyre from a Wal-Mart parking lot in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, according to the post.
Smith and Czarnecki were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and armed criminal action, all felonies, the post said. McIntyre was found safe after being reported as missing.
The two men were detained at the Sedgwick County Jail on a federal hold. A judge set bonds for the men at $1 million each, the post said.
