Man shot in Delano neighborhood

Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the Delano neighborhood Friday night.

The shooting was reported at 10:10 p.m. at Seneca and Douglas, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. Police radio traffic indicated the bullet struck the victim in the upper left arm. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officers had set up a large perimeter around the 900 block of West Douglas as the search for the suspect intensified. The shooting occurred on the street —not in a business — the supervisor said.

No information has been released about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
