Vehicles parked at nearly two dozen residences in an Andover subdivision were broken into Tuesday or Wednesday, according to police.

In a Facebook post, Andover police said thieves took items from unlocked vehicles parked at 20 different homes in the Green Valley subdivision. The crimes happened between 11 p.m. on Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Among the items taken were golf clubs, gift cards and loose change. Police said at least one person was detected on a security camera at one of the homes.

Until Tuesday night, just 12 vehicle break-ins had been reported in Andover in 2017, according to police. The Andover Police Department is asking residents to lock their vehicles, according to the Facebook post.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to contact the department at 316-733-5177.
