Sgt. Nikki Woodrow of the Wichita Police Department said officers were called to a location in the 5200 block of East Kensington just before noon on Wednesday, where they found a 23-year-old man who had been stabbed.
According to Sedgwick County Jail records, Malik Rogers, 20, of Wichita was booked Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated battery, both felonies. The victim, who was stabbed in the midsection and struck in the head with a blunt object, Woodrow said, was taken to a local hospital.
A 23-year-old woman was also at the scene at the time of the fight between the two men and was struck by the suspect. The suspect was at the scene when officers arrived, and the two men did know each other, Woodrow said.
