Photo released in Emprise Bank robbery
Law enforcement officers are looking for a man wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt who robbed the Emprise Bank branch on South Hydraulic on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The robbery occurred at 9:49 a.m. Tuesday at 2323 S. Hydraulic, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect walked into the bank and pointed a handgun at a teller, according to a security camera image released by police. He demanded money, which was placed into a black reusable grocery bag.
There are conflicting reports that the suspect left the area on foot or he drove away in a blue Impala, a dispatcher said.
The suspect is a black man in his 30s who is about 5-foot-4, 140 to 150 pounds and has a thin build, police officials said. He has a light complexion and possibly freckles.
Along with the sweatshirt, he wore tan cargo shorts, yellow and black high-top shoes, yellow and black gloves and a tan or khaki stocking cap.
Anyone with information about the suspect is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or the Wichita Police Department’s robbery investigation section at 316-268-4177.
