Two suspects sought in shooting behind Northrock Lanes
Police are looking for two suspects in an attempted robbery behind the Northrock Lanes bowling alley Friday night.
Two cousins from Arizona who are long-haul drivers were parked behind the the bowling alley at 3232 N. Rock Road and were talking with a 20-year-old man shortly after 11 p.m. Friday when two strangers approached and climbed into the cab of the semi without permission, Sgt. Roger Runft said.
They pulled out handguns and demanded money from the three men inside. An argument ensued and one of the suspects fired three shots, striking a 32-year-old man at least once in the leg.
The suspects then left the area without being given any money, Runft said. They both were wearing bandannas over their face. One was in his late teens, the other in his early 20s.
The cousins called 911 and the shooting victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
