Police look for two carjacking suspects

Police are looking for a red Suzuki Forenza after two men carjacked it in a residential neighborhood early Friday morning, police said.

A 24-year-old man told police he was driving slowly in the 1000 block of North Volutsia at about 3:45 a.m. Friday with his driver’s window rolled down when a stranger jumped through the window and grabbed the steering wheel, Lt. James Espinoza said.

He ordered the driver to stop and a second man got into the vehicle from the passenger’s side. He punched the driver several times in the head, according to a police document.

They ordered the driver out and took off with his vehicle, Espinoza said. The victim also lost his cellphone.

The stolen vehicle is a 2008 Suzuki Forenza with the tag number 161 BDJ, Espinoza said. The Forenza has damage to its front grille.

The victim was treated at the scene for facial injuries, a police document said.
