Teen robbed at gunpoint outside apartments, police say
A teenager was robbed outside an east Wichita apartment complex early Sunday, according to police.
Officer Charley Davidson of the Wichita Police Department said a 17-year-old girl told police she was in the parking lot of a complex in the 1000 block of South Woodlawn when she was robbed by a man at about midnight on Sunday.
The girl said the robber got out of the passenger side of a gray Buick that had pulled up beside her. The suspect brandished a black handgun and demanded the girl’s purse and cellphone.
No injuries were reported. The Buick is thought to be an early 2000s model.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Wichita Police Department at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
