A Kwik Shop store in north Wichita was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning, according to police.

Charley Davidson of the Wichita Police Department said officers were dispatched to the robbery call at the convenience store’s location at 710 W. 29th St. North at 6 a.m.

A 27-year-old female employee told police that she was in a back office inside the business when she observed a suspect point a silver handgun at three Kwik Shop clerks. Witnesses said cash was taken before the suspect left the store on foot.

Witnesses said the suspect was eventually picked up by a male in a blue or black Chrysler or Ford Edge. No injuries were reported.

Police, Davidson said, are looking for a 5-foot-7 man likely in his late teens. The suspect weighs approximately 230 pounds and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.
