Police looking for suspect in Dollar General robbery

Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a north Wichita Dollar General on Thursday morning

A 25-year-old female employee of the store in the 2900 block of North Broadway told police a man approached the register at around 9 a.m., said Wichita police officer Charley Davidson.

“After he got to the register, he demanded money and pointed a gray handgun at her,” Davidson said.

The suspect left on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The employee was not harmed.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old white man with a thin build, blue eyes and a brown or gray beard. He had black gloves and a black backpack and was wearing a camo coat, blue jeans and an orange face mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wichita police at 316-268-4407 or contact Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can also be submitted online or via text message.
