Wichita police say a 911 call from a 46-year-old woman led to the discovery of a drive-by shooting late Wednesday in the 1400 block of South Pershing, near Harry and Oliver.

Officer Charley Davidson said the woman heard several shots fired outside of her home and saw a dark four-door car speeding from the area around 11 p.m. Officers checking out her call found a nearby house that had been hit, but the 41- and 43-year-old men inside of it were unaware of the gunfire, he said. Police also found shell casings at the scene. No one was hurt.

Police don’t know who the shooter was or what motivated the gunfire. They’re asking anyone with information about the crime to call 316-268-4407 or 316-267-2111.
