Police investigating shooting near 29th, Woodlawn

A woman didn’t want to let a man see a second woman at a Wichita residence late Wednesday night, police said, and when he persisted in his efforts she shot him in the leg.

The 40-year-old victim drove himself to Wesley Medical Center and the 45-year-old woman identified by witnesses as the shooter left the scene, Capt. Doug Nolte said.

The incident occurred at about 9:10 p.m. in the 6400 block of East Pepperwood, Nolte said. That’s next to Woodlawn and 29th Street North.
