A man is in critical condition after being shot following an argument at a bar early Saturday morning, according to Wichita police.

The shooting occurred at about 1:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of East Stafford, Sgt. Joe Kennedy said. Two men, ages 19 and 25, got into an argument with strangers at the El 300 Club bar at 1621 S. Woodlawn.

When the two men left the bar, they were followed by the others to Stafford, Kennedy said. A 56-year-old man told police he heard gunshots outside of his house, went outside and found the 19-year-old man lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. He then called 911.

The older victim told police they had stopped in the street on Stafford and a Dodge Charger pulled up next to them, Kennedy said. Someone in the Charger fired shots into the Toyota before the Charger left the scene.

The older victim suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized, Kennedy said. It was unclear whether his injuries were caused by bullet fragments or shattered glass.

The younger victim was transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment, Kennedy said. No suspect descriptions have been provided.
