Police investigating second carjacking
Wichita police are investigating a carjacking – the second this week – that occurred Monday night.
Shortly after 9 p.m., a 32-year-old man called 911 to report his car was stolen in the 2600 block of East Mossman, said Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson of the public relations unit.
The man told police he saw a 35-year-old woman he knew from high school driving down the street. He contacted her and was talking with her when an unknown suspect got into the passenger seat of his 2005 Cadillac. The suspect pointed a silver handgun at the man and demanded the car.
The man was struck in the head with the gun as he ran from the vehicle, Davidson said. The woman returned to her vehicle – a silver four-door with dark tinted windows – and drove off.
The blue Cadillac was located a short time later in the 900 block of North Holyoke, police said.
Wichita police are seeking any additional information on the case or the suspects; call detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
