Molotov cocktail thrown through window of Wichita house

The Wichita Eagle

Wichita police are trying to figure out why someone tossed a Molotov cocktail through a bedroom window Thursday morning.

Officers responded to a call around midnight in the 8300 block of East Gilbert and talked with a 27-year-old man at the house.

“He was in his bedroom with his girlfriend … when an unknown suspect threw a Molotov cocktail through the bedroom window, which caught on fire,” Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said.

The Wichita Fire Department put out a small fire that was caused by the cocktail. The 27-year-old man got minor injuries from stepping on broken glass.

The man’s girlfriend, a 34-year-old female, and a 6-year-old boy in another room were not injured.

Woodrow said the people in the house didn’t see any suspects or a car leaving after the Molotov cocktail was thrown.
