Police: Man robs woman, knocks her unconscious
The Wichita Police Department is looking for a man suspected of pushing a 24-year-old woman to the ground, knocking her unconscious and stealing her cellphone and wallet near Kellogg and Edgemoor on Tuesday evening.
Police responded to a 911 call about the incident around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of South Christine.
Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said the incident is thought to be an aggravated robbery.
The woman gave details of the attack after being taken to the hospital. The woman told police she was walking north on South Christine, a residential area, when a stranger pushed her from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. The woman said she got up and ran, but the man grabbed her and hit her twice in her head, causing her to fall again and lose consciousness.
Woodrow says people who are being robbed should not fight and instead give up the property.
Anyone who has information about the incident should call WPD investigations section at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
