Weekend traffic enforcement in Andover

File photo

The Andover Police Department will run a traffic enforcement campaign Friday through Sunday.

Officers plan to issue citations to anyone breaking traffic laws, including those speeding, texting while driving and driving under the influence. People who don’t buckle up will also be ticketed, the Andover Police Department said in a news release.

The enforcement is part of a six-state campaign, the release said. Officers in other areas of Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma are also participating.

“Even one death is unacceptable,” the agency’s Lt. Lance Parker said. “Please slow down, put the phone away or turn it off, and always buckle up.”
