Harper man convicted under Jessica’s Law gets life sentence

A Harper man has been ordered to serve life in prison under Jessica’s Law on a conviction of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a news release.

Randall Kent Mullendore, 49, was sentenced Thursday by Harper County District Court Judge Larry Solomon after entering a guilty plea on the offense. The crime occurred between February 2007 and February 2010. The victim was younger than 14, Schmidt’s office said.

Mullendore will not be eligible for parole for 25 years under the 2006 law, which strengthened penalties for adults convicted of sex offenses involving children younger than 14. He also was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and will be supervised by the Kansas Department of Corrections for life if paroled.
