File photo

Two women in a car driving through McAdams Park were shot at Wednesday night.

A Wichita police officer driving on 13th Street around 9:30 p.m. passed a parked vehicle at the park when he heard gunshots.

“He could see muzzle flashes from that vehicle,” Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said.

The car left the park and the officer stopped it as it pulled into a driveway in the 1500 block of North Hydraulic.

Police arrested four males, ages 21, 18 17 and 15, from the car. They found three handguns and a rifle in the car. The four were booked into jail or the Juvenile Detention Facility.

The two women, ages 22 and 20, were driving home through the park. Their car was hit multiple times by bullets but they were not injured, police said.
