Good morning, Wichita.

It’s National Secondhand Wardrobe Day, National Whiskey Sour Day, National Kiss and Make Up Day and National Banana Split Day.

▪ Wichita State University’s Ulrich Museum of Art has “Art for your Ears” with the band Moreland & Arbuckle tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. It’s part of a summer concert series. The event says to bring a lawn chair and that the museum will provide refreshments. In the event of rain, the location will be moved to the WSU Campus Activities Center.

▪ It’s TGIT, short for “Thank Goodness It’s Thursday,” at Third Place Brewing, 630 E. Douglas, Suite 150, with the Red Shoe Society. The Red Shoe Society describes itself as a group of young professionals, ages 21-40, who provide philanthropic and volunteer support to Ronald McDonald House of Wichita.

▪ Scientists announced they discovered the closest extoplanet to Earth in the universe and that it could potentially be home for life. It’s called Proxima b. It’s 4.22 light-years away, or 25 trillion miles.

▪ A social media frenzy ensued over a “Stop White People” course offered by Binghamton University to residential assistants. The university said “the premise of this session is to help others take the next step in understanding diversity, privilege, and the society we function within.”
