Police release name of Andover woman found dead Monday night

Andover police on Wednesday released the name of the woman found dead at her apartment earlier this week.

Capt. Justin Phillips said Sandra Louise Berry, 40, died Monday night from a “traumatic injury” at Cloudridge Apartments, 217 W. Third. Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy — which had not been done as of mid-afternoon Wednesday — to confirm how she died.

Phillips stopped short of calling the death a homicide or a “suspicious death,” saying more information was needed before the nature of her death could be determined.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
