East Heights UMC to host block party to help the homeless
For the third year in a row, East Heights United Methodist Church will include a “help the community” element in its annual block party.
Partygoers are invited to help feed the homeless by packing “snack bags” during the Aug. 5 event. The packs will be handed out at United Methodist Open Door’s Homeless Resource center, according to a news release.
Those who want to participate can join the assembly line on the church lawn during the party.
The event will also include free hot dogs, cupcakes and treats, and partygoers can enjoy games and prizes, free bingo, a bounce house, a photo booth and music by Beau Jarvis and friends.
The block party is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church grounds, 4407 E. Douglas. For more information, visit www.ehumc.org.
