City employee found at Cheney pump station remains critical

A city employee who fell at the water pumping station at Cheney Reservoir earlier this week remains in critical condition at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

The 59-year-old man was found at about 1 a.m. Tuesday at the pumping station at 39500 W. 21st St., city officials have said. A fellow employee went looking for him after the man’s wife called to report he had not returned home following his normal day shift, according to a police document.

The victim was found unconscious on the floor of the pumping station, according to the document.
