Second round of seat belt enforcement on South Broadway yields 85 citations

One day after conducting a special traffic enforcement effort focusing on seat belt violators on South Broadway, Wichita police did it again — and nabbed dozens of additional violators.

Over a four-hour period Tuesday night, officers wrote 85 citations — including 82 for adults not wearing their seat belts, police Officer Charley Davidson said. The officers focused on the 2600 block of South Broadway.

There were three child passenger safety violations, three driver’s license violations, five violations for no proof of insurance, four equipment violations and 14 other violations, Davidson said.
