The Kansas Highway Patrol will present an active-shooter mitigation program in Wichita on Wednesday to teach people how to respond if they find themselves in that type of situation, according to a news release.
The Wichita Society for Human Resource Management is hosting a breakfast and presentation by Trooper Chad Crittenden of the Kansas Highway Patrol. A panel discussion with individuals who have responded to active-shooter situations will be held following Crittenden’s presentation.
The program will teach what to do in an active-shooter situation, the importance of having a plan and response options, according to the release.
The program costs $10 and will be held from 7:15 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas. To register, visit www.wichitashrm.org.
