Gordon Bassham, director of Wichita Crime Commission, resigns
The executive director of the Wichita Crime Commission has resigned.
The organization said Friday that during his tenure, Gordon Bassham played a key role in developing and promoting Wichita Crime Commission projects and programs, including the development of Gang Free Wichita and Domestic Violence Free Wichita.
He also was instrumental is merging the crime commission with the Wichita/Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers program, which pays rewards of up to $2,500 for anonymous tips leading to arrests in criminal cases. Bassham’s resignation was effective Thursday, the crime commission said in a news release.
A search for his replacement is underway.
