Driver, 21, dies after SUV crashes into Sedgwick County ditch
A 21-year-old man died and his two passengers were seriously injured early Tuesday when a Chevrolet Blazer crashed into a ditch, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.
The office said it expected to release their names Wednesday, after relatives have been notified.
Authorities gave this account: A little after midnight on Tuesday morning, deputies went to the 3900 block of 183rd Street West after a report of a one-vehicle wreck. Early investigation indicated that a 1987 Chevy Blazer was going south on 183rd West when the vehicle went out of control and ended up on its top in a ditch.
The 21-year-old driver was found pinned in the vehicle, and he died there. Two passengers, both 21-year-old men, had serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
Investigators are trying to find out how the driver lost control, the office said.
