Police: Man found dead in south Wichita amid suspicious circumstances

Police are investigating the death of a man discovered Monday morning in south Wichita.

Sgt. Brian Sigman of the Wichita Police Department said a man in his late 50s was found dead in the 2100 block of South Laura after a call came in just before noon for a welfare check.

Sigman said police are calling the death suspicious and are investigating it as a homicide. The welfare check call came in at 11:34 a.m. Monday.
