Teen walks into hospital with gunshot wounds to head, foot
A 16-year-old boy walked in to Wesley Medical Center with serious gunshot wounds around 5 a.m. Saturday, and police are trying to figure out how it happened.
According to Wichita police Sgt. Joe Kennedy, the teen said he had been shot while walking near Ninth and Grove sometime early Saturday morning.
The boy said someone in a white car fired five shots at him before leaving the scene, Kennedy said.
He sustained injuries to the head and foot, and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
As of Saturday morning, police had no information about the cause of the disturbance, Kennedy said.
