Real Men, Real Heroes will honor WSU athletic director, Eagle columnist and K-State football star

Real Men, Real Heroes will recognize former Kansas State football player Kevin Lockett, Eagle sports columnist Bob Lutz and former Wichita State University athletic director Eric Sexton at its annual fundraiser and recognition event on July 21, according to a news release.

Lockett, who founded the Lock-ett Up Foundation, and Lutz, who founded League 42, will receive the 2016 PRIDE Award for their youth programs.

Sexton will receive a Special Recognition award for his leadership at WSU and the national recognition of the university’s athletics.

In addition, the recognition event will celebrate the achievements of youth who excel in the organization’s mentoring programs, “Future Heroes” and “Teen Heroes,” which help youth with academics, social skills and their future prospects, according to the release.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 21 in the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University.
