Westar customers to save a little each month with rate change
Customers of Westar Energy will save a little bit of money after the Kansas Corporation Commission authorized the company to lower its transmission delivery charge.
The average customer will save about $1.50 on their next bill, according to a news release.
The KCC filed a complaint with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in March 2015 saying that “Westar had over-earned on its transmission costs.”
The federal agency approved a settlement between the parties in March of this year. Westar will receive about $18 million less because of the change over the next 12 months.
