Kansas Honor Flight returns to Wichita
War veterans returned Friday to Wichita Eisenhower National Airport on the sixth Kansas Honor Flight of the year.
Veterans who traveled to Washington, D.C., this week included veterans from World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Among the sites the group visited: the World War II Memorial, the Korean Veterans Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The trip was organized by Kansas Honor Flight Inc., whose mission is to transport American veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials at no cost to them.
