Kansas, Wichita release updated bicycle maps
Kansas cyclists now have access to an updated map of state bicycle routes and traffic volume to help them plan their rides.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has released an updated 2016-2017 Kansas bicycle map that is geared toward beginners and experienced cyclists alike. According to a news release, the map shows designated bike routes in 19 Kansas cities, traffic volumes along state routes and which county routes are paved. It also includes safety tips, suggested routes and future projects.
Maps are free of charge and can be requested by e-mailing bikeped@ksdot.org or by calling 785-296-8593. For more information, visit ksdot.org/bikeped.
Wichita officials unveiled a new map on Wednesday that shows the many bicycle paths in the Wichita area. The maps are available at library branches and bike shops.
