Sure enough, Wichita set a temperature record on Monday.
The high climbed to 72 at 2:44 p.m., easily topping the record of 69 set in 1953. There may be another degree to add to the record, said Eric Schminke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wichita.
Tuesday’s record high – 69 set in 2013 – is under threat as well as this weather pattern lingers for another day or two.
