Award-winning singers to headline Juneteenth Gospel Fest
Juneteenth, a commemoration of the day in 1865 that slaves in Galveston, Texas, were emancipated, will be celebrated again this June in Wichita.
Family Friend Outreach and A Talent Showcase Productions will bring carnival rides and Stellar Award-winning vocalists to Wichita on June 18 for the Juneteeth Gospel Fest, according to a news release. Singers will include the Rance Allen Group, Vickie Winans, Dorothy Norwood and Marvin Winans Jr.
Gates will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the concert will start at 3 p.m. Tickets are priced from $15 to $33. Proceeds will help serve homeless veterans.
