Five men, with bats and clubs, break into home near 13th and Hillside
Wichita police are investigating a Saturday night break-in of a residence where five men, armed with bats and clubs, kicked down a family’s door.
The incident happened at 8:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Lorraine. Six members of the family – ranging in age from 2 to 67 – were at home, according to Sgt. Bob Gulliver, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
Two of the family members began fighting with the men, Gulliver said. Three suspects fled the residence, near 13th and Hillside, in a vehicle; one suspect sustained injuries in the fight and was later transported to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis; and one suspect was located in the area by officers and booked on suspicion of burglary and aggravated battery.
