State workers are coming to Wichita on Saturday to help people look for unclaimed money.
The missing money comes from forgotten bank accounts, stocks, bonds, insurance premium over-payments, refunds, abandoned safe deposit boxes and other abandoned properties.
More than $301 million in unclaimed property is up for grabs, according to the State Treasurer’s Office.
The Unclaimed Property Division will attend the Kansas Grown Farmers Market in Wichita, at 21st and Ridge, from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The division will have a booth at the market that’s equipped with a computerized database to help residents search and file claims.
“Many Kansans are unaware they have property to claim, which is why outreach initiatives like this and others are so important to our program,” Ron Estes, state treasurer, said in a news release.
