Hutch man suffers serious injuries when ATV rolls over in Harvey County
A 40-year-old Hutchinson man suffered serious injuries when an ATV rolled over, and alcohol appeared to be a factor, the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
Undersheriff Todd Hanchett gave this account: At about 9 p.m. Tuesday, a 39-year-old Nickerson man was driving an ATV that rolled over on private property northeast of Burrton. “The ATV was accelerating up a hill in a field, when it rolled,” Hanchett said in a statement.
The passenger and owner of the ATV was a 40-year-old Hutchinson man. The impact left him unconscious and with serious injuries, and a LifeTeam helicopter took him to Wesley Medical Center. He was in serious but stable condition, Hanchett said. The driver had minor injuries and also was taken to Wesley in a personal vehicle.
The case is under review, he said.
