Click It or Ticket campaign starts May 23 in Sedgwick County
Increased traffic enforcement will taken place over a two-week stretch spanning Memorial Day weekend, authorities said.
The annual Click It or Ticket campaign will run from May 23 to June 5. Law enforcement officers will be particularly watching for impaired drivers, occupants who are not wearing their seatbelts and drivers texting while their vehicles are moving.
Additional Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputies will be on the roads during the campaign, sheriff’s Sgt. Keomi Johnson said in a prepared statement. The project is being financed by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Memorial Day weekend is traditionally considered the start of the summer travel season.
