The body of a man in his 30s was found in the Arkansas River on Monday.

Wichita police were called to an area just north of the bridge at Lincoln and McLean shortly after 3 p.m., when a person walking along the bike path near the river noticed the body, said Sgt. Joe Kennedy, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are working to identify him.

A cause of death has yet to be determined, Kennedy said.

“There doesn’t appear to be any trauma, but this is still an ongoing investigation until we can get more information,” he said.

If people have information on the man, authorities encourage them to call 911, Kennedy said.
