The easiest way to sharpen your garden tools? Let somebody else do it.

Starting off the growing season with sharp edges is a good idea, and tool-sharpening is a service being offered by master gardeners Saturday at Tree Fest, a spring garden celebration at the Extension Education Center at 21st and Ridge Road.

For a small fee, you can leave your pruners or loppers to be sharpened while you shop, attend how-to seminars or eat at the Tree Fest. Admission to the fest, which is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free. The Kansas Grown Farmers Market will open for the season in the parking lot, from 7 a.m. to noon.
