Warming Souls Winter Shelter to close Friday

Warming Souls Winter Shelter will close for the season Friday.

Inter-Faith Ministries operates the homeless shelter during the five coldest months of each year.

This year it opened Nov. 1 and regularly served more than 100 men and women each night, according to an announcement from Inter-Faith Ministries.

The shelter offers dinner and breakfast, but residents must leave the shelter each morning.

The statement said Inter-Faith Ministries will look for a new location for women next year because its current location was not well equipped to handle added residents during the winter.

Women currently stay at the Ti’Wiconi Safe Haven, 841 N. Broadway, and men at Inter-Faith Spiritual Center, 841 N. Market.
