North Wichita shooting sends man to hospital

Police were called to the scene of a drive-by shooting Saturday afternoon in north Wichita, according to a Sedgwick County dispatcher.

Around a half-dozen shots were reported just before 2 p.m. in the area of 27th Street North and Fairview, the dispatcher said. Following the reported shooting, a man seeking care arrived at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, the dispatcher said.

A house in the area of the shooting scene was also reported to have received damage, the dispatcher said. Check back with Kansas.com later as more information becomes available.
