Officers arrest 3, issue 60 speeding tickets on Kellogg

Responding to driver complaints, Wichita police conducted a traffic enforcement project on Kellogg near West Street on Thursday night.

In a two-hour span beginning at 10 p.m., officers wrote 60 speeding citations and arrested three people, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. One person was arrested on suspicion of drug offenses and using a suspended license. Two others were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The highest speed ticketed in the 50-mile-an-hour construction zone was 79, Espinoza said. The slowest speed ticketed was 60.
