Oklahoma woman killed in Cowley County crash with semi

One motorist died Sunday in a two-vehicle crash in Cowley County, according to a news release from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Janice A. Tandarich, 79, of Oologah, Okla., was killed when the 1999 Toyota Camry she was driving was struck by a semitrailer truck on U.S. 66 near the intersection with 211th Road, the release said.

The Camry had been attempting a U-turn but was unable to avoid the collision with the semi, according to the release. The crash occurred just before noon on Sunday.

The 50-year-old Arkansas man driving the semi was not injured, the release said.
