Sheriff’s official: Possible $48,000 embezzlement from Sedgwick County electric co-op

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a possible embezzlement of $48,000 from an electric co-operative, an official said Wednesday.

“It is alleged by the business that over the course of the past two years, a former employee moved money into different accounts to facilitate the embezzlement of approximately $48,000,” sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning said in a statement.

The business is in the 1300 block of South 383rd Street West, he said.

There has been no arrest, he said.
