About 2,000 Westar Energy customers were without power in west Wichita on Monday morning starting at 9 a.m.
The outage was between Maize Road and 119th Street, and between Maple and 21st Street. It was first reported at about 9 a.m. and affected 1,927 customers, according to the outage map on Westar Energy’s website.
By 11 a.m., the number had dropped to 859 customers, and soon after power was restored to all customers. The cause of the outage has still not been determined according to a Westar spokeperson, who added that there are several ways they can try to restore power without having identified the problem.
The outage affected about 1 percent of Westar customers in Sedgwick County.
