Downed power lines cause traffic diversion near downtown Wichita

Traffic is being diverted at Murdock and Washington late Tuesday morning after a semi struck a utility pole and knocked down power lines, authorities said.

The accident was reported on Washington south of Murdock at 11:23 a.m., a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. No injuries were reported.

Traffic is being blocked from going south on Washington from Murdock until the downed lines can be removed, the supervisor said.
