A Wichita nursing home called Meadowlark Adult Care Home, 254 S. Robin, received a perfect score on its most recent state evaluation. Last year, fewer than 4 percent of the state’s nursing homes received such a score.
The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services surveyed Meadowlark, which is independently owned, Jan. 20 for compliance with state and federal standards.
Angela de Rocha, spokesperson for the department, said the survey dates are yearly and unannounced to the facility.
“This is a very admirable accomplishment,” de Rocha said about the score.

Brookdale Derby, 1709 E. Walnut Grove, was one of the six nursing homes to receive a perfect score since the start of this year.
