Wichita police investigating report of shots fired near West High
Wichita police are investigating a series of gunshots fired southwest of West High School early Thursday afternoon.
A group of four men between 20 and 30 years of age apparently exchanged gunfire at Seneca and Stillwell shortly before 1 p.m., a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. No injuries were reported, and police haven’t found anyone linked to the incident.
West High, near Lincoln and McLean Boulevard, went on lockdown as a precaution, but it was lifted after 20 minutes, said Susan Arensman, a spokeswoman for Wichita public schools.
